The Madison Moose secured their third win of the season this week, thrashing the Fresno Fuegos 146.28 to 113.64. Quarterback Russell Wilson continued to lead the Moose this week, scoring 25.58 points with 297 passing yards and 77 rushing yards. He also solidified 2 passing touchdowns for the Moose. Fresno QB, Marcus Mariota, was right behind Wilson, scoring 25.32 points, with 218 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns and 6 rushing yards. Mariota’s impressive showing against Wilson this week was needed, as Fresno quarterback Tom Brady was on the bench. The other QB for the Fuegos, Jacoby Brissett led the scoring for the team with 33.52 points, with 308 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing yards. Ben Roethlisberger of the Moose was on the bench this week, and his replacement, Evan Engram, fell short of Brissetts’s points with 17 points, with 70 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

Another notable matchup for the teams were the wide receivers, Doug Baldwin for the Moose and Kelvin Benjamin for the Fuegos. Kelvin Benjamin scored 0 points for the Fuegos, while Baldwin heavily surpassed that, scoring 24.80 points for the Moose, with 108 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

This trend carried over to the matchup of the tight ends as well. Moose tight end Jared Cook scored an impressive 21.60 points, with 126 receiving yards, compared to Fuego tight end Jason Witten’s 1.50 points with 5 receiving yards.

The rest of the matchups between the two teams were very close. The overwhelming point-comparison between the wide receivers and tight ends of the Moose and the Fuegos, therefore, seem to be what gave the Moose the edge to defeat the Fuegos this time around.
