Game Recap:
The Honolulu Honey Badgers came out victorious of the Honolulu Rocks by just over ten points. Philip Rivers led the Honey Badgers as quarterback with 212 passing yards with a passing touchdown. Although he had one interception Honolulu was able to keep their lead with big performances from running backs Melvin Gordon and Alvin Kamara. Tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver A.J. Green also had a touchdown each. The Honey Badger’s kept running back Ezekiel Elliot on our bench this week because of concern about his possible suspension. The Rock’s quarterback Alex Smith also had over 200 passing yards and one touchdown. Smith and the Rock’s running back Le’Veon Bell both had fumbles in the game really affecting their opportunity to capitalize on their possessions. Other significant players for the Rocks were wide receiver Michael Thomas and their other quarterback Cam Newton. The Rock’s defense as a collective was also key in the game bringing in 20 points.
Matchup Preview
• It will be interesting to see how the Spade’s number six ranked quarterback Dak Prescott will perform in week nine. Prescott scored over 40 points in week five and seven, but had a disappointing week eight only bringing in 13.32 points and no touchdowns.
• Honey Badger’s wide receiver A.J. Green will also be trying to come back from a lackluster week seven and eight. He brought in over 30 points in week five before his bye the next week.
• The Honey Badgers will be facing the number one ranked wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. He brought in 41.40 points in week eight with 224 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. The Honey Badgers defense will have to cover Hopkins, because paired with Dak Prescott they have the potential to generate a lot of points.
• The Honey Badgers will have to find a way to overcome the Spade’s defense which is ranked number three in the league. They have not let go over 20 points since week four. The Honey Badger’s offense is going to find a way to get around their defense if they want a chance to take down the top ranked team in the league.
• Rob Gronkowski, the Honey Badger’s number two ranked tight end will not be playing in week nine. This could hurt the Honey Badger’s offense and takes a large generator of points out of the game.
• The Honey Badger’s defense has had a tough last few weeks. They gave up over 100 points in three weeks, so it is imperative they perform on Sunday if they want a chance at winning.
Honolulu Honey Badgers Season Notes
• Ezekiel Elliot is still working out his six-game suspension, and it is still unknown if he will be able to play in week nine against the Las Vegas Spades.

They are now under federal investigation, but Ballard hopes to restore the integrity of the police force.
• President Donald Trump will be visiting Oahu, Hawaii this weekend. There are already three anti-Trump protests planned and the Honolulu Police Department will be sending hundreds of officers for additional security.
• Researchers in Hawaii discovered a new planet orbiting a star that helps them better understand the formation of stars and planets. They were using the Big Isle Telescope when they made this discovery.
