Game Recaps
The Chattanooga Chickadees have landed back on their feet, making this week’s game the second win in a row with a 159.04 to 137.80 lead over the Virginia Beach Neptunes. After suffering a loss to the Neptunes in week 1, Chattanooga is now 1-1 with Virginia Beach. However, the Chattanooga Chickadees (4-4) are in fourth place in the lineup with the Virginia Beach Neptunes (5-3) in third. Running Back Javorius Allen had a surprisingly low number of yards run (totaling 57) and nearly half the points of Mark Ingram, Running Back for the Virginia Beach Neptunes. Carson Wentz and Tyrod Taylor formed the perfect combination for the Chickadees, picking up three touchdowns for the team and making the two the top scorers for the game (24.14, 29.70). Lamar Miller was crucial to the success of the Chickadees with 54 rushing yards, an amazing touchdown, and a total of 22.30 points. Also contributing to the Chickadees victory was Wide Receiver Adam Thielen with a whopping 98 receiving yards. Moving to defense, the Chattanooga Chickadees have upped their defensive line from previous weeks, racking up 12 points on the board for the team.
Matchup Preview
- Next week, the Chattanooga Chickadees with be taking on the Honolulu Rocks (5-3)
- Chattanooga had a hard time with their defense at the beginning of the season, but they are projected to have a better outcome in points (7.10) against Honolulu (5.89)
- Running Backs Leonard Fournette and Lamar Miller with the Chickadees and Devonta Freeman and Carlos Hyde with the Rocks are projected to rack up final scores less than a point away from each other, with Chickadees to pull ahead (29.49, 28.53)
- Kickers Harrison Butker for Chattanooga and Ka’imi Fairbairn for Honolulu are also expected to have close-call scores in next week’s game, with Butker pulling away by .24 points (7.24, 7.00)
- Chattanooga is projected to overcome Honolulu in all positions except for Quarterback, with Jameis Winston’s projection to be 17.13 points and Alex Smith’s projection to be 19.26 pants. Winston scored multiple times for the Chickadees this week, and needs to carry that against the Rocks.
Chattanooga Chickadees Season Notes
- RB Lamar Miller was limited at Wednesday’s practice due to a knee injury, but is seen as being favorable in this upcoming game
- QB Jameis Winston had limited practice on Wednesday for a shoulder injury that seems to be improving from a sprained AC joint, and does not appear to be in any danger of sitting out in next week’s game
- Leonard Fournette (RB) was listed as a full practice participant on Wednesday after seeming to have sufficient time to rest his sprained ankle during the week 8 bye
