Game Recaps

In the eighth week of the season, the Madison Moose lost to the Harrisonburg Valley Bees 197.30 – 145.16. Once again, Quarterback Russell Wilson was the top performer for the Moose contributing a season best 47.08 points. Ben Roethlisberger trailed behind Wilson putting 21.48 points on the board which included a season best 317 passing yards and 17 complete passes.  Wide receivers Doug Baldwin and Brandin Cooks only managed to put up a total of 19 points for Madison, a disappointment compared to last weeks contribution of 40.7 points against the Las Vegas Spades. Right back Ameer Abdullah, whose performance has been subpar the past month, came back from his bye week last week with 6.80 points for the Moose. The Harrisonburg Valley Bees saw excellence performance from multiple players. Leading the team with 47.78 points was quarterback Deshaun Watson. Additionally, wide receiver Will Fuller had a break through game coming back from a rough season and bye week this past week to put up a personal season best 36.20 points.  Following close behind was quarterback Derek Carr, with 313 passing yards and passing touchdown, tallying 26.52 points for the Bees. This loss puts Madison Moose out of competition with the Honolulu Honey Badgers and Harrisonburg Valley Bees for 6th place as the Moose fall to 2-6 on the season and drop to No. 8 in the league standings.

Matchup Preview

  • Next week, the Madison Moose, currently ranked No. 8 in the season, will play the Fresno Fuegos who are currently ranked No. 5 in the season. The Fuegos are projected to defeat the Moose 87.93 – 78.16.
  • The Madison Moose quarterback Russell Wilson, who is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the league for the season, is projected to score 20.89 points for the team with 26.11 rushing yards and 1.85 passing touchdowns.
  • Two of the Moose’s highest scoring players, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and right back Jordan Howard, will have their first bye week of the season. Hopefully the Moose’s quarterback Russell Wilson and wide receivers Michael Crabtree and Doug Baldwin are able to perform as well as they have in the past few games of the season and make up for these missing players.
  • Fuegos kicker Chris Boswell and the Moose’s kicker Matt Prater have a four-point difference in points scored this season. It will be interesting to see who performs the best in this position. For this coming game.
  • The Fresno Fuegos will have a few fresh legs as quarterback Marcus Mariota, right back Adrian Peterson and wide receiver Jordy Nelson will all be returning from a bye week.
  • Fresno Fuegos wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, and tight end Jordan Reed are both currently on profile however, are still in the starting line up to play against this coming week.
