Rocks Fall Against Honolulu Rivals Week 8 Game Note 2

Game Recaps    November 2, 2017 (Honolulu Rocks 102.54 – Honolulu Honey Badgers 113.28)

The Rocks come up short in the second meetup against in-state rivalry Honolulu Honey Badgers, falling by 11 points. Defense held the team together, with three sacks, three interceptions and one touchdown. Cam Newton played a strong game, with 154 passing yards, 44 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Kai Forbath also came out on top by converting all four field goal attempts, and hitting one goal from beyond the 50-yard line.  Another star player was running back Le’Veon Bell, who rushed for 76 yards and had a rushing touchdown. Quarterback Alex Smith had a high passing game but low in touchdowns, with 202 passing yards, and only one passing touchdown. The Rocks are hoping to come back strong in their next game against the Chickadees.

 

Matchup Preview vs. Chattanooga Chickadees

  • The Chickadees are 4-4, and coming off a 2-game win streak
  • Top ranked running back Le’Veon Bell will be on the bench due to a bye week
  • Alex Smith is still the top ranked quarterback and will go against 18th ranked Jameis Winston
  • Kai Forbath went 4-4 in field goal attempts in the last game and has gone 15-15 in the last four games
  • 10 vs. 12 ranked running back Devonta Freeman and Lamar Miller are looking at a tight matchup

 

Honolulu Rocks Season Notes

  • Chris Hogan does not need surgery on injured arm, but may miss a game or two due to recovery
  • Emmanuel Sanders has an ankle sprain but hopes to return in week 9
