Game Recap
The Madison Moose secured their second win of the season this past week defeating the Honolulu Rocks with a final score of 129.18 – 115.20. The Moose’s quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a pretty even game with the Honolulu Rocks quarterback Cam Newton. Roethlisberger scored the most individual points for the Moose with 23.88 points while Newton scored 24.66 points for the Rocks. The Moose’s running back Jordan Howard had 167 rushing yards, 1 reception, and 9 receiving yards racking up 19.60 points. The Moose’s Kicker Ryan Succop, wide receiver Michael Crabtree, and wide receiver Davante Adams were also notable this week tallying up a combined 51.6 points. The leading player for the Honolulu Rocks was running back Le’Veon Bell with 179 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, and 12 receiving yards gathering a total of 29.10 points. Quarterback Alex Smith and kicker Kai Forbath also played well but the team’s defense, and wide receivers T.Y. Hilton and Michael Thomas were the downfall with only a combined total of 11 points. The Honolulu Rocks fell to the Moose by only 13.98 points but that was enough for the Moose to have their second win, giving them a record now of 2-4-0.
Matchup Preview: Madison Moose vs. Las Vegas Spades
- Next week, the Madison Moose play the Las Vegas Spades for what is projected to be a loss for the Moose with a 130.38 – 114.79 score. Last game the Moose were projected to lose by 24 and they showed up and won by 13.98, so the Moose need to carry that energy to the field in their battle against the Spades next week.
- Madison Moose quarterback Russell Wilson is projected to have about 265 passing yards and total 18.13 points while Las Vegas Spades quarterback, Dak Prescott is projected to have about 289 passing yards and a total of 20.84 points in next week’s game.
- Despite the Las Vegas Spades’ wide receiver, Demaryius Thomas limping during the second half of last week’s game and not practicing this week, he is projected to have an even match up with Madison Moose wide receiver Michael Crabtree.
- Madison Moose defense and Las Vegas Spades defense has a pretty much even match up this coming week.
- Jared Cook, tight end for Madison Moose had a season low in receptions, targets and yards in this past week’s game and will be benched for the game against the Spades.
- Almost all the player match up’s for the upcoming game differ by only a few points, so let’s see which team brings their A game to steal the Las Vegas Spades projected win.
Madison Moose Season Notes
- Running back Aaron Jones was dropped from the team this past week.
- Running back Tevin Coleman was added to the Madison Moose this week.
- Injuries:
- Defensive player LB Anthony Barr was out of practice this past Wednesday with a concussion.
- Running back David Johnson continues to be on injured reserve due to surgery on his dislocated left wrist and will be able to return Thanksgiving at the earliest.
- Tuesday morning, Madison police say Swastikas were carved into the hoods of about 20 vehicles at a Far East Side dealership. If anyone has information about the vandalism please call Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
- Dane County, Wisconsin enters the contest to house Amazon’s second headquarters. Amazon promises that this headquarters will have the need of 50,000 high-tech jobs. The Madison Region Economic Partnership president said the theme of their pitch to Amazon is: “We are a younger version of Seattle and Amazon can grow with us.”
