Neptunes Lay the Trident into the Moose
The Virginia Beach Neptunes beat the Madison Moose this week by almost 50 points. QB Aaron Rodgers led the Neptunes to victory with 33.04 points who threw for 221 yards with three touchdowns, helped by the outstanding play delivered by TE Cameron Brate in Sunday’s game with 17.8 points. After picking up TE Cameron Brate this week, the ‘Tunes were happy to see their addition make his mark on the team, so early. WR Tyreek Hill sealed the deal for the team with his 24.3 point-performance, catapulting the Neptunes past the Moose. With early projections having the Neptunes win by only 11 points, the team was pleased to secure a more comfortable win.
The significant loss for the Moose could be attributed to the underperformance of three of its key playmakers. RB’s Mike Gillislee and Jordan Howard contributed less than 8 points while TE Jared Cook brought in a lousy 2.5 points with three receptions for 25 yards.
After the win against the Moose, the Neptunes now sit in 4th place heading into next week’s game against the 3rd place Fresno Fuegos, the first time these two teams will meet this season. With the playoffs looming, this game is essential for the ‘Tunes to win if they wish to advance into postseason play.
