The Fresno Fuegos on Fire for the Third Straight Week, Week #4, Game Notes

Game Recaps

The Fresno Fuegos set fire to the Honolulu Honey Badgers in the week four match up. The Fuegos scored 145.92 points beating the Honey Badgers who had 113.46.Tom Brady, the Fuegos quarterback had yet again the highest score of the game, racking in 40.48, beating out all the other players. Brady completed 32 of 45 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. The Honey Badgers defense had a hard time denying Brady in throwing yards. This is Brady’s third week to throw over 300 yards in one game and stays at the number 1 rank in the NFL. C.J Anderson, the Fuegos running back, earned 15.20 points this week, carrying the ball 20 times for 95 yards, caught four of his targets for 17 additional yards. This was Andersons second best rushing week of the season and he really bounced back after having only 6.30 points last week. Kareem Hunt, the Fuegos other running back had the third highest points this week, with 17.10, on 21 rushes for 101 yards. Hunt caught all four of his targets adding 20 more yards this week. Hunt was not able to find the end zone for the first time this season but contains the most yards on the ground compared to any other player league wide. Jordy Nelson, the Fuegos wide receiver, brought in four of seven targets for 75 yards, and scored two touchdowns earning 23.50 points, the second highest on the team. Nelson out shined Odell Beckham, the second wide receiver for the Fuegos who had an underperformance compared to last week. Beckham earned 16.00 points after dislocating his finger and injured his ankle again in this game. He finished with seven catches for 90 yards but got 15 targets to get there. The Fuegos are unsure if Beckham will be able to play in the Week 5 game against the Chickadees. The Fuegos defense had a hard time controlling Ezekiel Elliot , the Honey Badgers running back, who had 85 rush yards, one touchdown, 54 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. The Fuegos defense was able to limit Rob Gronkowski, the tight end of the Honey Badgers to only 80 receiving yards for 12.00 points and Melvin Gordon,the Honey Badgers second running back,  to 22 rushing yards and 7 receiving yards for 3.90 points. The Fuegos are continuing their third straight win and will be put to test when playing the Chattanooga Chickadees this upcoming week.

Matchup Preview

  • This is the Fuegos third straight game that they have won and still remain in second place in the league.
  • The Chickadees are coming off a one game-winning streak and are gaining momentum. After losing three straight in a row, they finally got their first win last week.
  • The league has predicted a close game. The projected score of the game is 108.80 to 107.76, giving the Chickadees another win.
  • Jameis Winston, the Chickadees quarterback is coming off a great week, completing 22 of 38 passes for 332 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. His last game he played without any turnovers and throwing to his targets.
  • Lamar Miller, the Chickadees running back, is coming off a hot week having had 29.10 points last week. Lamar Miller will put the Fuegos defense to the test in the running game.
  • Tom Brady, the Fuegos quarterback is still ranked number one in the NFL comparing to the Chickadees quarterback, Jameis Winston who ranks 23rd.
  • Kareem Hunt, the Fuegos running back is currently ranked number one in the NFL compared to the Chickadees running back Lamar Miller who is ranked 12th.
  • The other running back for the Chickadees, Leonard Fournette is limited right now and is questioned on whether he will be able to play for this week’s matchup.

 

Fresno Fuegos Season Notes

  • Doug Martin, the Fuegos running back will return from suspension this week.
  • C.J Anderson will be benched this week.
  • The Fuegos added the Buffalo Bills Defense for this week’s game dropping the Denver Broncos.
  • The Fuegos added a new kicker, Greg Zuerlein for this week’s game and dropped kicker Matt Bryant from the team.
  • Fresno Unified teachers have voted to go on strike Tuesday Night. The teachers are going on strike in hope to get smaller class sizes, better salaries and benefits, and classroom safety.
  • In Northwest Fresno, a early morning house fire unveiled marijuana grow. After the firefighters put out the fire, they found marijuana plants and evidence of a grow operations in two of the three rooms of the house. The house is destroyed and the cause of the fire is unknown right now.
  • Adrian Antunez Perez, 12, died a couple days after he accidentally touched a chain link fence that was electrified. This past Tuesday, Adrian’s friends, family, and teachers came together near the fence for prayer.
