Game Recaps

The Madison Moose snagged their first win of the season, defeating The Honolulu Honey Badgers 132.42-121.04. Quarterback Russell Wilson led the Moose, scoring 41.52 points with an impressive career-high 373 passing yards. He also solidified 4 passing Touchdowns and 26 rushing yards for the Moose. Whereas Honolulu QB, Phillip Rivers, fell short at a subpar 3.48 points, with 237 passing yards and 3 interceptions for the Badgers. The other QBs, Ben Roethlisberger of the Moose and Matthew Stafford of the Badgers, put up significant points for their teams as well. Roethlisberger shined, scoring 16 points for the Moose, with 235 passing yards, 1 pass Touchdown, 6 rushing yards and one unfortunate fumble; however, Roethlisberger fell just short of Stafford’s showing of 21.48 points for the Badgers, with 264 passing yards, 1 pass Touchdown and 19 rushing yards. Recently added for this game, Moose running back Chris Thompson also had an impressive game with 38 rushing yards, 150 receiving yards, and 1 receiving Touchdown, resulting in 31.80 points. Ezekiel Elliot, Badger’s running back, scored 18.40 points for their team. Fresh off the bench, wide receiver for the Moose, Michael Crabtree, still suffered from a chest injury and wasn’t much help to his team, scoring a mere 1.70 points with 7 receiving yards. Badger wide receiver A.J. Green, however, dominated with 111 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. The lack of defense was evident in this game, with the Moose defense only scoring 9 points, and the Badger defense not adding any points for their team. However, despite the Badger’s efforts, the Moose scraped by with a win.
