Game Recaps

The Madison Moose got their first win of the season this past week defeating the Honolulu Honey Badgers with a final score of 132 -121. The Moose’s quarterback Russell Wilson had an outstanding game scoring 41.52 points with a total of 373 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns and 26 rushing yards. Running back Chris Thompson had 150 receiving yards, 38 rushing yards, 1 touchdown, and 6 receptions racking up 31.8 points. Roethlisberger and Cook were also notable this week tallying up a combined 30.3 points. The Honey Badgers quarterback Philip Rivers had a pretty rough game scoring only 3.48 points. Leading player for the Honey Badgers was wide receiver A.J. Green with 111 receiving yards, 10 receptions and 1 touchdown gathering a total of 28.10 points. Gronkowski and Stafford also played well but the team’s defense was there downfall with 0.0 points scored. The Honey Badgers fell to the Moose by only 11 points but that was enough for the Moose to have there first win, giving them a record now of 1-2-0.

Matchup Preview

  • Next week, the Madison Moose play the Chattanooga Chickadees for what is projected to be the second win of the season for the Moose with a 121.32 – 109.39 score. Last game the Moose were projected to lose by 12 and they showed up and won by 11, so the Moose are ready to battle for their projected win next week.
  • Wide receiver for Madison Moose Michael Crabtree, who was benched week 2 due to a chest injury, played in the game against the Honey Badgers this past week and only racked in 1.70 points. He will go back to the bench for next week’s game.
  • Russell Wilson, the quarterback for Madison Moose is projected to have about 275 passing yards and total 19.51 points while Chattanooga Chickadees quarterback, Jameis Winston is projected to have only 226 passing yards and a total of 15.14 points in next week’s game.
  • Despite the Chickadees wide receiver Sammy Watkins getting a concussion in this past week’s game, he is making progress in the NFL’s concussion protocol and is projected to have an even match up with Madison Moose wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
  • Madison’s defense is projected to pull ahead of Chattanooga’s defense by just a few points this coming week.
  • Madison’s running back Jordan Howard will be pulled off the bench for the game against Chattanooga and is projected to score 15.96 points for the Moose.
  • Almost all the player match up’s for the upcoming game differ by a only few points, so let’s see if the Madison Moose brings there A game to the field and steals the projected win.

Madison Moose Season Notes

  • Kicker Ryan Succop was added to the Madison Moose this week.
  • Kicker Cairo Santos was dropped from the team this past week.
  • Injuries:
    • Wide receiver Doug Baldwin was out of practice this past Wednesday with an injured groin but plans on playing in week four’s game against the Chattanooga Chickadees.
    • Running back David Johnson continues to be on injured reserve due to surgery on his dislocated left wrist and will be out until December.
    • Wide receiver Michael Crabtree has a chest injury that limited him at Wednesday’s practice. He will be watched at practice throughout the week to monitor his progress.
  • On Wednesday afternoon, two masked gunmen robbed Bank Mutual in Portage, Wisconsin. Police are still looking for the suspects. If anyone has information please call the Portage Police Department at (608) 742-2174.
  • A new initiative at a high school in Madison, Wisconsin: Oconomowoc High School students learn about the realities of heroin and opiate addiction with the screening of the documentary, “Straight Forward: The Truth About Addiction.”
