Honey Badgers Take on the Moose – Week 3 Game Note 1

The Honolulu Honey Badgers had another tough game on Sunday afternoon against the Madison Moose. The final score was 132.42 – 121.04 resulting in the third loss of the season. The leading scorer on the Honey Badgers, A.J. Green received 28.10 points in the game. Green caught ten of the 13 passes he was thrown which added up to 111 yards paired with a touchdown. Quarterback, Philip Rivers, on the other hand, played below average with only completing 20 of the 40 passes and having four interceptions which resulted in his total points adding up to 3.48. The Madison Moose’s quarterback, Russell Wilson had a total of 41.52 points due to his completion 29 of the 49 passes, had four touchdowns and rushed for 26 yards. Melvin Gordon had a touchdown and 17 carries for 79 yards before being taken out late in the game due to a bone bruise. The Honey Badgers had a hard time competing and combating the points being produced by the Madison Moose.

 Matchup Preview

  • The Honolulu Honey Badgers are projected to beat the Fresno Fuegos 125.50 – 121.23 on Sunday in Fresno, California.
  • Odell Beckman of the Fresno Fuegos missed week one due to a high ankle sprain but returned for weeks two and three supplying a respective 28.90 points last Sunday.
  • Tom Brady, quarterback, for the Fuegos is projected to have 19.47 points against the Honey Badgers while Philip Rivers is only projected to put up 16.53 points. The previous two weeks, Brady has put up at least 50 points which means Rivers will have to step his game up to combat those points.
  • The matchup of the running backs for both, the Honey Badgers and the Fuegos will be an interesting due to the projected 33 points combined for both teams. This will happen if Melvin Gordon, who is out due to injury, is able to return to full health.
  • The Honolulu Honey Badgers, the seventh place will have to make some changes before facing the number two seed in the tournament if they want to even come close to the projected score.
  • The Fresno Fuegos had a tournament-high in week two of 186.42, winning by a little less than 80 points against the previously undefeated team, the Harrisonburg Valley Bees. The Honey Badgers have yet to play the Valley Bees but have competed with the Las Vegas Spades, only losing by 1.32 points while the Fuegos lost to the team by 10.98.
