Game Recaps    September 24, 2017 (Honolulu Rocks 142.28 – Virginia Beach Neptunes 143.72)

After a two-game win streak the Rocks lose their first game of the season in a tight showdown with the Virginia Beach Neptunes. Losing only by 1.44 points, players still had a strong game. Running back Devonta Freeman led the team with 106 rush yards and one touchdown. Also coming out on top was quarterback Alex Smith, who threw 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Le’veon Bell added on 61 yards and another touchdown. Another star player was Michael Thomas, who had 87 yards and one receiving touchdown. While Cam Newton did pass for 167 yards and rush for a touchdown, he also threw three interceptions, which prevented a few points that could have won the game. The Rocks are looking to use this close game as motivation to come out on top against the Harrisonburg Valley Bees.
