Game Recaps (Previous week’s game)

Fantasy week 2

Overall not too disappointed in our teams second straight lose to open up the season. This week came right down to the wire where we lost by just over a point. After watching our star running back Elliot get stopped on every play I thought for sure we were going to lose. After the Sunday game our team was well within reach to pull off a comeback on Monday Night Football, where the Spades had no one left to play but we still had Matthew Stafford. The quarterback being the highest scoring position in fantasy, I knew the Honeybadgers had a great chance to capture our first victory. Stafford started off with some vengeance; throwing two touchdown passes bring us within single digits of our opponent. Just as the Honeybadgers were about to take the lead Mathew Stafford had a costly fumble, which if hadn’t happened, would have brought us our victory. Overall our team had a fantastic week scoring the 3rd most in the league, losing by just over one point with our best running back not showing up to play and poor managing had left us without a starting defense, which was detrimental to our score. With better planning, I have a good feeling with the Honeybadgers moving forward.

Matchup Preview (Upcoming match up)

  • I like the combination of our players going up against Madison’s defense this week. Though their team is solid I have seen Madison’s team give up the big plays this year to other teams already. I think the Honeybadgers, after losing two close games to start are going to come up with a big game lead by both Rivers and Gordon.
  • AJ Green is due for a big week, I know we have struggled this year and Andy Dalton has been questioned, but AJ is too big of a talent to be held in check, he was the number 1 wide receiver in every category before suffering an injury last year. I believe that AJ Green can exploit those same vulnerabilities that he did last week and we are overdue for a good week.
  • Gronkowski coming off a big week looking to add another one. Madison has a great defense but their offense puts them in bad spots, Madison has the best pass rushers but are missing some key line backers which is key to guarding Gronk.
  • Jarvis Landry had 13 catches in his first game. Jay Cutler is always looking to target Landry and is waiting for him against one of the worst defenses in the league.
  • We are thinking about putting McCaffrey in the starting lineup he does well with both catching and running the ball and now going up against a defense that has struggled for a few years now and doesn’t seem to be getting any better in Madison.

Madison

  • Gillislee though he has been a Redzone threat, he is only significant if he gets a touchdown. Having Tom Brady on his side while also playing against the best defensive line in the league it will be difficult for the patriots to use Gillislee to punch it in.
  • Jordon Howard he had a big end of the season last year but in game one he was out done by his backup Cohen and bears haven’t looked back. Howard is not only looking to slide in the depth chart from 1st to the second running back, also has been dealing with an injury.
  • Crabtree is someone that could be a huge threat because he is looking like the number one wide receiver. He had a big week last week and he will be playing a weaker secondary.
  • Ben Roethlisberger will be a huge threat this week including one of the best in Antonio Brown and one of the best running backs in Le’Veon Bell. He is playing a weak defense and has a chance to put up some big numbers

Injuries

-Jarvis Landry is listed as questionable. He was a big part in Miami’s victory last week. He felt pain in his knee after the game. He has yet to practice since but should return to a light practice in the next day or two. No concern about this player he will have a large upside even if not at 100%

-Gronk is listed as questionable but this player is a little more of a concern and I will have to follow closely to make sure he is playing. He is alittle more of a concern because he has had this groin injury before and has missed some serious time in the last tree years. When healthy he is the best TE in the league but injuries has really hurt his production as
