Game Recaps

In the opening week of the season, the Madison Moose lost to the Harrisonburg Valley Bees 126.82 – 93.84. Their was low production on multiple ends for the Moose. Starting quarterback Russell Wilson only managed to put up 8.32 points, as well as tight end Tyler Eifert scoring 1.4 points. The matchup might’ve been a little close if our #1 overall draft pick David Johnson didn’t get injured in the third quarter of the contest. Now Johnson is out 2-3 months, and will undergo wrist surgery. The Valley Bees had a lot of help from quarterbacks Matt Ryan and David Carr which made it difficult for us to gain any ground. Overall, the team did decently well, but I was expecting touchdowns from our wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Doug Baldwin which could’ve made the matchup a little more interesting.

Matchup Preview

Mike Gillislee makes first start of the season at running back with the injury to David Johnson.

Newly acquired tight end Jared Cook will get the start this week over rookie Evan Engram.

Quarterback Russell Wilson seek his first touchdown pass of the season on Sunday.

Wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Doug Baldwin look of for their first touchdown receptions of the season.

Madison’s defense heads into a tough matchup against quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who threw for 2 TD’s and 263 yards last week.

Wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Doug Baldwin have potential for a big week playing against shaky defenses, as well as tight end Jared Cook.
