With the holiday season approaching, the Austin Armadillos will be giving back to the Austin community by serving early Thanksgiving meals to those in need at the Salvation Army Center in Austin. Several Armadillos players, as well as the coaching staff, will travel to the Salvation Army Center donning red aprons and serve meals to those who otherwise would not be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner. The players and coaches will also take the time to pose for photographs, sign autographs and visit with the diners. The Armadillos believe that everyone deserves to have a warm meal and the team is committed to spreading holiday spirit to all members of the Austin community.
Week 9 Game Recap
The Austin Armadillos continued their playoff push this weekend as they defeated the Virginia Beach Sharks by a score of 124.46-84.38. Leading the Armadillos was quarterback Matt Ryan, who scored 42.76 points on 344 yards passing with 4 touchdowns. Surprisingly, rookie Michael Thomas was the second leading scorer with 24.3 points in his first start in the flex position to help the Armadillos secure a win. Eli Manning led the Sharks, scoring 29.88 points on 257 yards passing, 4 touchdowns, and two interceptions. This win brought the Armadillos to a three-way tie for first place based on record with the Harrisonburg Valley Bees and the Columbia Salamanders. After the tiebreakers, the Armadillos are in third place, but they have a big opportunity this week as they face the Valley Bees.
