Quarterbacks Lift Armadillos Within Reach of First Place (Week #8, Game Note #2)

Week 8 Game Recap

The Austin Armadillos bounced back from a close lose last week to defeat the Richmond Renegades 165.84-119.90. Austin now improves to 5-3 on the year, with Richmond falling to 2-6.  Elite play from Austin quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Ryan was the difference for the Armadillos, scoring 45.52 and 46.42 points, respectively. Richmond quarterback Drew Brees was the Renegades top scorer, tallying 39.70 points on 265 passing yards and one both passing and rushing touchdowns. Palmer totaled 363 yards through the air and three touchdowns, marking his third game eclipsing 300 yards thrown, and second with three touchdowns. Ryan also passed for three touchdowns, his fourth game of the season with at least three scores. This strong offensive production will look to be carried over into next week’s important matchup with the Virginia Beach Sharks.
