Game Recaps

The Oklahoma City Orioles showed slight improvement from last week, but the team picked up its second straight loss, losing 189 to 146.66 to the Harrisonburg Valley Bees. QB Russell Wilson and WR Julio Jones led the Orioles this week, totaling nearly 93 points between the two. With Jones’ 300 yard receiving game Sunday, he became the only player in history to have multiple 250-plus yards in a single game. Wilson had one of his best passing games of the season, completing 23 of 32 for 309 yards. The Carolina defense could not find a stop to Matt Ryan’s dominance, which enabled him to 503 yards of offense, resulting in fours touchdowns. Stephen Gostkowski missed his only field goal attempt Sunday, which resulted in negative points for the Orioles.

Matchup Preview

  • The Oklahoma City Orioles look to get end its two game losing streak with a win against the Richmond Renegades on Sunday in Richmond.
  • Marcus Mariota, who has only scored 9 points in the past two weeks, needs to step up this weekend in Richmond. With Russell Wilson on a bye week, Mariota faces the pressure of carrying the team’s offense.
  • The Orioles will face a challenge against the Renegades, having 5 key players out on a bye week. The O’s will have to go to the bench for help.
  • Andrew Luck has become the leader for the Renegades after racking up 32 points last week. The struggling Orioles defense will have to find a way to keep him in check in order to think about leaving with a victory on Sunday.
  • The most anticipated matchup of the game seems to be Julio Jones of the Oklahoma City Orioles and Jordy Nelson of the Richmond Renegades. Both players have put up large numbers so far this season. If Jones plays anything like he did last weekend, the odds look to be in his favor.
