Game Recap

The Sacramento Sasquatches edged out the Virginia Beach Sharks in a nail-biter, 117.46-113.08. Going into the Sunday night game, the Sasquatches needed to come back nearly 10 points just to tie it up and build a lead for Monday night, as the Sharks then had their quarterback Eli Manning, while Sacramento only had their kicker, Blair Walsh. Leveon Bell was able to help the Sasquatches build the lead they needed after leading the team in points with 23.80 off of 144 rushing yards and 34 receiving yards. Bell was outshined by AJ Green of the Sharks as the highest scorer in the matchup, but after the game he said, “All I care about is getting the win.” This is the third week in a row the Sasquatches have topped their projected point total for the week.

Matchup Preview

-First meeting of the year against the Austin Armadillos, both teams enter the week at 2-2.

-Through week 4, the Armadillos have outscored the Sharks by a total of 48.28 points.

-The matchup this week features two of the games star running backs going head to head, David Johnson of the Armadillos and our Leveon Bell.

-The Armadillos are currently on a two game losing streak.

-The Sasquatches, despite a 2-2 record, have the worst offense in the league to this point, scoring only 482.54 total points.

-Kelvin Benjamin this week will be facing off against the defense that has given up the most points to wide receivers this year, so look for him to have a big game.

-A win would really shake up the standings for either team this week, as 7 teams are currently tied at 2-2.

Sacramento Sasquatches Season Notes

-Wide receiver Kevin White suffered an ankle/fibula injury that could leave him out until the end of the season so the Sasquatches will likely drop him and look for another wide receiver.

-Trevor Siemian, the backup quarterback, has been sidelined at practice this week following an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. He is Sacramento’s second injured quarterback this season.

-Running back Frank Gore has been having some chest tightness this week and sat out of practice Wednesday, but he should be good to go on Sunday if the Sasquatches need him.

-Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger visited Sacramento this week and mentioned the Sasquatches in the opening of his speech.

-The clown craze has reached Sacramento, as clowns have threatened local schools.

-As the tension between cops and residents rise in numerous lower income areas around the country, Sacramento has began an investigation on a police officer who tried to hit a homeless, mentally ill man with his car and then shot him 14 times.
