Game Recap
A second game came down to Monday night for the Sasquatches this season, and again the result did not work in their favor, as they lost a tight game to the Richmond Renegades, 130.58-128.56, and fell to 1-2 overall. Despite 0-point performances from both Kelvin Benjamin and Delanie Walker, the Sasquatches had a sizeable lead going into Monday night, created in part by T.Y. Hilton’s outstanding 35.4-point game. However, Drew Brees put up 44.94 points for the Renegades, enabling them a come-from-behind win by just 2.02 points. It was a matchup that included three lead changes and the second-smallest win margin recorded in the league this season. Star running back Le’Veon Bell returns next week, as the Sasquatches look to bounce back against the Virginia Beach Sharks.
Matchup Preview
- This will be the first meeting this year between the Sasquatches and the Sharks, who are 2-1 on the season.
- The Sharks are ranked first in the league, while the Sasquatches are ninth.
- The Sharks currently lead the league in average points per game, with 148.19.
- It is projected to be a tight game: 111.08 to 110.38, in Sacramento’s favor.
- This could be another matchup that comes down to Monday night for the Sasquatches, since Eli Manning plays on Monday for the Sharks and is a projected high scorer.
- In position matchups, only four Sacramento players are projected to outscore their counterparts on the Sharks.
- The top running backs for each team, Frank Gore and CJ Anderson, are projected to score 16.10 and 16.50 points, respectively. This should make for a close game for the running backs.
- The Sasquatches picked up QB Trevor Siemian, who will be considered for a starting spot this week.
