Richmond locks in first win of season – Week 2 Game Note 1

Week 2 Recap

Entering Sunday night, the Richmond Renegades trailed by nearly 10 points to the Las Vegas Rockets. But with the help of 18.30 points from wide receiver Jordy Nelson and 7.10 points from tight end Jared Cook, the Renegades gained a 116.20 – 100.76 lead over the Rockets. The score remained through Monday night, and Richmond exited Week 2 with its first win of the 2016 season to improve to 1-1. The Rockets’ loss also dropped them to 1-1.

Renegades’ veteran quarterback Drew Brees was the high-point man for both sides, racking in 28.52 points. DeAndre Hopkins had a standout performance for Richmond in the wide receiver position by bringing in 25.30 points, the second highest among both teams.

Richmond’s bench players also went out a performed over the weekend, combining for 80.40 points. The majority of those were thanks to running back Isaiah Crowell’s 25.80 points and wide receiver Stefon Diggs’ 34.20.

Next up for Richmond is the Sacramento Sasquatches (1-1).

  • The Richmond Renegades enter the Week 3 contest in fifth place, while its opponent — the Sacramento Sasquatches — sits in ninth after a loss last week. Both teams are 1-1, with Richmond outscoring Sacramento this season 272.82 – 236.52.
  • After scoring 34.20 points last week, Renegade wide receiver Stefon Diggs is the highest scoring receiver in the league with 52.40 points. Sacremento wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is the second highest scoring receiver with 51.90 points.
  • Richmond quarterback Drew Brees is the third highest scoring play caller in the league with 77.94 points scored through two weeks.
  • Richmond replaced its Steelers defense with the 49ers defense. Steelers only scored 11.00 points in two weeks, while the 49ers are the sixth highest scoring defense in the league with 21.00 points. The 49ers are also matched up against a Seahawks offense that has only 15 points for this season.
  • Sacramento’s lineup is projected 121.90 points while Richmond is projected 103.58.
  • Richmond’s sixth round picked, running back Chris Ivory, returns to action this week after being sidelined the first two weeks with a medical issue.
