The Austin Armadillos will be hosting a coaching clinic this Wednesday, September 21, 2016 for all youth football coaches in the Austin area. The clinic will provide coaches with a plethora of drills and activities for their teams, but the main focus will be on player safety. The Austin Armadillos are committed to instilling safe tackling technique at a young age in order to increase the safety in our sport. Therefore, the Austin coaches will demonstrate how to teach young players the correct, safe tackling technique.

 

Game Recaps

The Austin Armadillos followed up their strong week one performance with another convincing win in their home opener against the Orlando Blooms by a final score of 138.10-116.76. The Armadillos had a strong performance at nearly every position. Quarterback Carson Palmer had 308 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, while wide receiver Jarvis “Juice” Landry pitched in 137 yards receiving on 10 catches. Tyrod Taylor led all scorers, contributing 297 yards passing along with 3 touchdowns with 25 yards rushing and an interception from the flex position. Unfortunately, the Armadillos suffered their second season ending injury of the young season, as Danny Woodhead tore his ACL in the second quarter of the game. Woodhead joins wide receiver Keenan Allen on the injury report and will miss the entire season.
