Las Vegas Luck Host Largest Thanksgiving Dinner and Canned Food Drive

The Luck Serve the Less Fortunate who are Unable to Provide for Themselves

Nov 17, 2015 – The Las Vegas Luck will be teaming up with the Salvation Army for two very important community events. On Wednesday, November 25th, the Luck will be hosting the biggest Thanksgiving dinner in the Las Vegas area at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The Luck have also been holding a canned and non-perishable food drive in the community for the less fortunate. They have sponsored and placed food collection bins at local grocery stores, restaurants, churches and schools.

Some of the needed items include canned fruits, vegetables, and soups and dry goods such as rice, cereal, pasta and crackers. There have already been over 10,000 goods collected through the food drive and there is still 8 days left. The organization plans to donate all of the gathered food to the Salvation Army.

While this is the first year the team is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner at the stadium, the organization is planning for hundreds of attendees due to the large number of homeless in the Las Vegas community. Due to the high volume of people expected to attend the event, the Luck will require the entire team to attend including cheerleaders and the coaching staff.

“Thanksgiving is a special time of year and everyone should be able to have food to eat,” says Josh McDaniel’s, Luck head coach. “The guys are always excited to give back to such an awesome community.”

The event will take place from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium.
