Wide Receivers Continue to Produce for the Lizards

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov 2, 2015 – After eight weeks of the season, the Louisville Lizards are in second place and much of their success can be attributed to the strong play of their two starting wide receivers, DeAndre Hopkins and Julian Edelman.

When first-round pick Dez Bryant was injured in Week 1 with a broken foot, Louisville looked like they would have trouble equaling the production of Bryant, who was the top receiver in the league last season. However, Edelman and Hopkins have proven to be two of the top receivers in the entire league this season.

Hopkins is the second-ranked wide receiver in terms of fantasy scoring this season and Edelman is fifth. Hopkins has an astounding 870 receiving yards on the season to go along with 6 touchdowns. Edelman has 584 yards as well as 6 touchdowns.

Going into his bye week, Hopkins will turn over his starting job to Bryant who is now back from his injury. After only 12 receiving yards last week in his return to action, Bryant will look to get more production this week and help the Lizards defeat the first-place Virginia Beach Sharks.

The Louisville Lizards aim to produce a winning product on the field while building positive relationships with the Louisville community and Lizard fans worldwide. Please contact Matt Cohn cohnms@dukes.jmu.edu or call (973) 479-8613 with any questions or comments.
