Week 6 Game Note

Down By The River – The undoubted star of the team last week was quarterback Phillip Rivers, who put up 503 yards and 2 touchdowns on 43 completions. The 43 completions are the second most ever achieved in an NFL game by a quarterback. Rivers has 2117 passing yards on the season, almost 400 more yards than the second place man, Andy Dalton. He is a threat to break Peyton Manning’s record of 5,477 yards in a season if he keeps putting up yards at this pace.

Shady’s Back, Back Again – LeSean McCoy returned last week after a partially torn hamstring sidelined him for 3 straight weeks, rushing for 90 yards on 15 carries and 1 TD in his first game back. Although he said he is still not 100%, McCoy plans on playing through the injury barring and future setbacks.   McCoy will immediately rejoin the starting lineup as his supreme talent gives the team strong production from the Running back position.

The Losing Streak Continues – After starting the season 2-0, the Luck have lost a franchise record 4 straight games and now sit at 6th in the league at 2-4, despite having the 3rd most points for. They hope to end the streak next week against the 3rd place Memphis Blues, who have won 2 straight games.

Good-Bye – Four of the Luck’s key players are on byes weeks this upcoming week, including star players Tyler Eifert and Emmanuel Sanders, who have started for the majority of the season. The Luck have had a few players eager to get more playing time, and this is their chance. Rookie WR Tyler Lockett and big-play TE Julius Thomas are getting their first starts of the season, and a strong performance from them will force the coaching staff to make a tough decision on who to start the following week.
