  • Rookie standout, Marcus Mariota, struggled mightily this week against the Legends. Threw 2 INTs and surrendered 2 fumbles. Said afterward he felt “rattled.” Memphis hopes the 2nd overall draft pick will bounce back and put up steady numbers next week at Las Vegas. Mariota’s Player Bio
  • While the Blues were away, Youth Groups from the greater Memphis area were invited to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium to watch the game on the JumboTron. Running Back T.J. Yeldon was declared inactive and did not travel with the team, so he remained home and interacted with the visiting children. As a product of rural Alabama, Yeldon bonded with the groups of children. Affected so much by their stories and lives, Yeldon formed the community organization “Yeldon’s Youngsters” to help serve underprivileged children in Memphis.   • The song “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65 was added to the Official Memphis Blues Spotify Playlist over 150 times. Baffled by the sudden emergence of the ironically catchy dance tune, the Blues’ social media team concluded it was the result of a thread on the forum discussion platform Reddit. The thread aimed for members of the /r/MemphisBlues online community to get the song played “100+ times at our next home game lol.” The song was removed from the playlist, but fans were promised that they’re “pseudo-anthem” will get airtime at some point. Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65
  • Multi-platinum recording artist, Justin Timberlake, has been invited to sing the national anthem at the Blues’ next home game. The Blues have yet to receive confirmation from his booking agent, but he expressed interest on Twitter by saying “Doing the natl anthem for my hometown Blues is the next best thing to an NSYNC reunion #coughcough”.
