Back and Forth Shootout Ends in Loss for the Dingleberries

Daytona, FL (October 20th, 2014)- The Dingleberries were pitted against the Tallahassee Tigers in this Week 8 match up. This loss puts the Dingleberries on a two-game losing streak, but did not hurt there standing of third in the league. While the Dingleberries played outstanding on all accounts, they we no match for the Tigers who tallied the most points in the league this week. The game ended in quite the shootout with the final score being 148.30 to 189.74 in favor of the Tigers. Yet again, Andrew Luck was the top point earner for the Dingleberries with a total of 34.60 points on the day. Antonio Brown with 29.40 points, as well as Jamaal Charles who tallied 23.70 points followed him up as the three leading scorers for the Dingleberries. However, the threesome was no match for the Tigers top scorers who amounted for an astonishing 124.54 points. This threesome consisted of Quarterback Drew Brees (51.04 pts.), Wide Receiver Jeremy Maclin (37.20 pts.), and Runningback Arian Foster (36.30 pts.).

Luck has been reliable all year and proved it yet again with 400 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, but his performance was greatly hindered by his 2 interceptions this week. Both Charles and Brown who tallied 2 touchdowns apiece were the support system for Luck this week. With TE Coby Fleener being a practical no show for the 5th week in a row his starting position is in question for the upcoming weeks. Once again, the stars of the Dingleberries happened to be outshined by their opponents this week who tallied 311 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, 187 reception yards and 2 touchdowns, and 151 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 22 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown reception, respectively. A critical play in Luck’s game came when he tripped over center Jonotthan Harrison and fell on his backside at the goal line. He flung the ball to the left, but there wasn’t a player in white anywhere close. Officials awarded the Steelers a safety when they flagged Luck for intentional grounding to extend Pittsburgh’s lead to 44-34.”I’m not sure what happened on the trip,” Luck said. “I should have stayed on my feet.”

This game was an upset by all accounts with the Tigers being the 9th ranked team in the league defeating the Dingleberries who are currently ranked 3rd. The win help the Tigers move up one spot to where they now sit at number 8. The Dingleberries cannot let this effect the teams moral as they have a big test this coming week again the Columbia Kings who are on a seven game winning streak. They will have to put this loss by the wayside and focus on preparing for next week if they hope to stand a chance.
