Flyers Grounded by the Tuscaloosa Top Guns
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 28, 2014)- The Fort Lauderdale Flyers (3-5) dropped its fifth game of the season as they lost to the Tuscaloosa Top Guns(4-4) 160- 112. The Flyers fall to 3-5 of the season after their third loss in a row and have dropped to ninth place in the league standings.
“Although we did not play up to our full potential, I feel like we ran into a buzz saw this week in the Top Guns,” Flyers coach Ben Teachey said. He continued on to add, ”They played really well and put up a lot of points.”
The Top Guns saw quarterback Nick Foles explode for over 30 points in the game marking one of his better performances this year. While the Flyers’ quarterback Russell Wilson only managed 20 points, one of his lowest outputs this season.
“I definitely did not play up to my high standards,” Wilson said. “ I have had a strong season up to this point and I am looking forward for making up of my lack of production this week in next weeks game”, Wilson stated as he looked to reassure fans.
Again the bright spot for the Flyers would be the play of their starting wide receivers, T.Y. Hilton and Mohammed Sanu. Both players eclipsed the 100 yard receiving mark and Hilton was able to score a touchdown as well. Hilton leads the league in receiving yards so far this year and looks to continue his strong play.
T.Y. Hilton and the Flyers look to rebound as they matchup against the Harrisonburg Valley Bees (4-4) in their week 9 game.
