HONOLULU – On Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 Honolulu’s quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, was injured on the Pineapple’s opening drive of the game at Aloha Stadium against the East Coast Egrets. With 12:38 remaining in the second quarter, Rodgers was thrown to the ground on his left shoulder by defensive end, Shea McClellin.
It was confirmed on Tuesday, Nov. 5 that Rodgers has a fractured left collarbone. There has not been an established timetable for Rodgers returning to football activities because there is not a specific type of rehab for the injury, so he will simply have to wait for the bone to heal completely. Rodgers states, “I’ve been a quick healer in the past and am hopeful this will be on the short end of whatever prognosis comes up.”
In the meantime, because of the unfortunate situation of all three quarterbacks being injured and their return up in the air, the Pineapples have decided to drop Michael Vick from their roster and pick up Ben Roethlisberger. Honolulu will be playing Roethlisberger as their quarterback for the upcoming weeks until Rodgers or Cutler is fully healed.
