Aardvarks Trying to Find Groove

AUSTIN (NOV. 5, 2013) The Austin Aardvarks once again fell short of a victory after their week 10 match-up with the San Antonio Toros. In the coming week however, the Aardvarks will be attempting to make some crucial acquisitions that will hopefully help them make a late season run.  Following a close loss, the Aardvarks hope to build on the experience and emerge victorious in week 11 against the eighth place Portland Lumberjacks.

On Wednesday, November 6th the Austin Aardvarks plan on picking up two new free agents. QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Marvin Jones will be added to the Aardvarks squad, and will be solid players in the weeks to come.  Roethlisberger has averaged over 30 points per game since week 4 (NFL Sports), and is projected to have well over 30 points in week 11.

Wide receiver Marvin Jones had a 37 point game in week 8, scoring 4 touchdowns and over 120 yards (NFL Sports).  Jones may not be a starter, but in the coming weeks with crucial players out for bye-weeks, Jones will be a useful asset.  Jones’ schedule for the coming weeks is full of slow secondaries, so he will be just fine.

Coming into week 11, the Austin Aardvarks are still trying to dig themselves out of last place. Last in scoring and most points against does not look good on paper, but with Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger looking healthy and Andre Johnson finally coming alive the rookie team from Austin Texas may just have a shot.
