Stumpers Host Halloween Fright Fest

PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 29, 2013)- The Portland Stumpers are putting the last touches on the décor and planning of a Scare-tactic night full of fright and fun. The Stumpers will host the first-annual Halloween Stumptober Fright Fest on Thursday, Oct. 31,  at JELD-WEN Field. The players were involved in planning the event, and will all be attending to meet and greet the fans.

The Stumpers players emphasized how important the Portland community is to the team “I am so excited about this! We have planned some pretty awesome games and booths. The best part is that its going to last all day, and its family friendly. I can’t wait to bring my wife and kid to this! They are going to have a blast!” said Tony Romo, quarterback for the Portland Stumpers.

“Although we haven’t had the best season so far, the Portland community continues to sell out the games and continue to cheer us on and that level of commitment to a brand new team is really amazing. There is no better feeling in the world than to know you have an entire city cheering you on. It is because of that, that the entire team unanimously decided to host this event to thank the community,” said Jamaal Charles, Stumpers’ running back.

The event will begin at noon on Thursday and has no determined end time. Admission is free for everyone as long as they wear a costume, if no costume is worn there will be a $15 charge, which will be donated to a charity. Make A Wish Foundation and Homeless Shelter representatives will be present, along with some furry friends from the ASPCA. There will be food stands, pie eating contests, face painting, bobbing for apples, best costume contest and many more fun activities.

“I look forward to interacting with the fans by taking some pictures and signing some autographs. They have really supported us tremendously this season, and I know I speak for the whole team when I say that we all appreciate how loyal our fan base here in Portland” said Daniel Martinez,Stumpers’ head coach.

The Portland Stumpers aim to make a positive and measurable impact on the community through the success of the franchise.  For more information email stumperspr@portlandfootball.com or visit www.portlandstumpers.com
