Las Vegas- Oct. 22, 2013, the Las Vegas High Rollers earned their fifth win of the season at the hands of the East Coast Egrets by a close score of 129.22 to 115.28. High Rollers quarterback Matt Ryan returned to the field to lead the High Rollers in scoring once again, passing for 35.72 points on 273 yards and three touchdowns. “It felt good to get back out there,” added Ryan, “We just went out there and grinded it out. Luckily we came out on top.”
Matt Forte also contributed considerably to the High Rollers offensive attack with 109 total yards and three touchdowns of his own. The High Rollers relied heavily on Forte, who has booked a total of 120.5 points this season, second among all High Rollers. “I just go out there and do my thing week in and week out” said Forte when asked about the consistency of his play this season. also contributed considerably to the High Rollers offensive attack with 109 total yards and three touchdowns of his own. But even after excellent performances from Ryan and Forte the High Rollers still found themselves in a tight game with the 2-4 East Coast Egrets (now 2-5). It came down to the 69-yard punt return from wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, the unsung hero for Las Vegas this past week, to push the High Rollers over the edge and excel them to victory. Patterson, who was acquired by the High Rollers in week two, has scored 64.4 points for the High Rollers this season, most of which coming on 475 returning yards.
This win maintained first place in the SCOM Fantasy Classic for the High Rollers. Although they are still tied by record with the Honolulu Pineapples and their week eight competitors the Albuquerque Arachnids, the High Rollers still lead the league in points with 953.16.
