PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept.26, 2013)- Colin Kaepernick will not be starting quarterback week 4 against the Austin Ardvaarks. Kaepernick has not been performing for the past two week; putting up only 2.78 points week two against the San Antonio Toros and 2.00 points week 3 against in-state rivals the Portland Lumberjacks.
“Kaepernick is just having off weeks. It happens to all of us. He will bounce back soon and no one will remember these last two games. We all know he is better than how he is performing and we all stand behind him.” said Mike Wallace, Wide Receiver for the Stumpers.
Sunday’s game was against in-state rivals the Portland Lumberjacks. Both teams are fighting for the title of ‘Portland’s Team’. This game determined which team is in the lead for such title.
“Both the Stumpers and the Lumberjacks want to be the team that Portlanders cheer for and turn to. The Lumberjacks now have an advantage over us for that title, but the season has just started, we have several weeks to redeem ourselves and win over Portland.” said Daniel Martinez, Portland Stumpers Coach.
Tony Romo will be replacing Kaepernick as starting quarterback for the Portland Stumpers for Sunday’s game.
“We have the chance of having two solid quarterbacks, which makes it easy to sub one out if they are not performing. Romo is a great quarterback; he has been performing very well at practices this entire season. We expect big things from him this weekend.” said Daniel Martinez, Portland Stumpers Coach.
