Kaepernick Loses… an Eyebrow

PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept.17, 2013)- Although week two resulted with the Portland Stumpers’ first win, Colin Kaepernick, quarterback for the Stumpers, still lost. Kaepernick made a bet with Russell Wilson, quarterback for the San Antonio Toros, which forced the ‘loser’ to shave off one of his eyebrows. The bet was not based on the outcome of the game, but rather who obtained the most points.

Wilson did not win the bet by much; Kaepernick obtained 2.78 points during the game while Wilson obtained 6.98 points. Quarterbacks gain points by passing and rushing, and they lose points through fumbles.

“A bet is a bet and even though my team won the game, Wilson still got more points than I did. It’s time for me to shave my eyebrow. Lets just hope it grows back fast,” said Kaepernick.

Kaepernick shaved his eyebrow in the locker room following the game.

“I think having one eyebrow is a good look for me. Don’t you?” joked Kaepernick.

Kaepernick and Wilson are in the process of planning their next bet. Their goal for this one is to help the community by donating their time.

“This bet was a lot of fun for me, even though I lost. Wilson and I started talking about what other bets we could do and came to the conclusion that we could do these to help people out. We don’t have all of the details yet, but we have some pretty great ideas,” said Kaepernick.

The Portland Stumpers is one of two NFL teams located in Portland, Oregon. The Stumpers aim to make a positive and measurable impact on the community through the success of the franchise.  For more information visit www.portlandstumpers.com or email stumperspr@portlandstumpers.com.
