MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Porkers bounced back into the win column defeating the Albuquerque Rattlers 90.66 to 70.34. The win places the Porkers at 4-4 and sitting in seventh place in the League. Quarterback Tom Brady passed for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the team to victory.
Running-back Marshawn Lynch rushed for over 100 yards and added a touchdown of his own. Perhaps the biggest player of the game though was wide-reciever Denarius Moore who had nearly 100 yards receiving and caught a touchdown pass. Moore was one of the main players in a trade completed earlier in the week.
“Moore came to play and was on the same page with Brady from the start of the game. If he can continue to play like that then we’ll go far in the playoffs,” said Head Coach Bill Cowher.
The team’s other two big acquisitions during the week contributed a little bit with tight-end Colby Fleener and running-back Pierre Thomas adding a total of 7.3 points. It is still to be decided who the starting tight end will be moving forward as the team still has Jermaine Gresham.
The Porkers’ next game will be against In Rooney We Trust, who are on a two game losing streak. The GM Dennis DuLaney and Coach Cowher have decided to give Tom Brady a game off. The starter will be Carson Palmer. The positive thing is that the team’s top wide receiver, AJ Green is returning to the lineup this week. For the Porkers the main concern is winning and staying in the playoff picture.
