LAS VEGAS, Oct. 22, 2012 – The Las Vegas Sinners had three starting players benched due to bye weeks. The Sinners picked up Donald Jones, a wide receiver from the Buffalo Bills, and Phil Dawson, kicker for the Cleveland Browns, in order to combat the loss of the starters in this week’s game. The Sinners expected to struggle without having Tony Gonzalez, DeSean Jackson and Matt Prater but were extremely pleased with the outcome of the game.
The Sinners latest addition of players proved to be quite successful, resulting in a victory over the Portland Pirates. Donald Jones had 47 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown, gaining 10.70 points. Dawson only had 1 PAT, had 43 receiving yards, picking up only 1 point for Las Vegas, but has shown promise for future weeks. Tony Romo appeared back on the field with the Sinners after Ryan Tannehill played quarterback the past two games. Arian Foster and Frank Gore performed very well this week, contributing a little over 40 points to the victory.
The Las Vegas Sinners will be making a few roster changes as they take on the Pointyheads next week. For more information on the Sinners, you can visit the website http://sites.jmu.edu/sportspr/category/newswire/sinners/ or follow the team on Twitter @LVSinners.
