LAS VEGAS, Oct. 1, 2010 – Memphis Porkers’ Quarterback Tom Brady found his offensive rhythm in the second half, utilizing six straight touchdown drives to lead the Porkers past league rival, the Las Vegas Sinners (2-1), 52-28 on Sunday. Brady connected with his leading wide receivers, compiling an impressive 22 for 36 completion rate for 340 yards and three touchdown passes.
The Porkers (1-2) struggled offensively in the first half, creating a 21-7 deficit early in the third quarter. The Porkers gained momentum after Brady hit Danny Woodhead with a game-changing 17-yard pass, bringing the Porkers within a touchdown with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter.
”We were down whatever it was, 21-7, on the road, our backs against the wall, and I thought we showed a lot of heart,” Brady said. ”That’s what this team is made of. We’re going to battle until the end.”
And that’s exactly what Brady and the Porkers did. Brady continued his offensive surge, leading his squad down the field with an 8-play, 85-yard drive to tie the game at 21. Brady maintained his composure, adjusting to the Sinners’ persistent defensive pressure.
The Sinners’ defense was unable to slow Brady and the Memphis passing game down in the second half. Wide Receivers, Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski made things easier for Brady, combining for 580 receiving yards, 358 of those yards completed in the second half alone.
Brady and the Porkers hope to continue their winning streak in week five as they face off against the Multiple Scoregasms Deux (0-3) at the Scoregasm Stadium on Sunday, October 7, 2012. The Scoregasms’ defensive unit will be a challenge for Brady and his offense, as they are projected to continue their dominance in week five after posting a shutout against Team Cam Hates Replacement Refs (0-3).
