LAS VEGAS, Sept.26, 2012 – At Sam Boyd Stadium at 12:59 a.m. the Las Vegas Sinners dropped Damian Williams and signed the Arizona Cardinals defense. The Cardinals defense was picked up on waivers and Williams was also dropped on waivers.
Williams was dropped due to poor performance. Also the Sinners needed roster space to pick up a new defense. With it they were able to pick up the Cardinals defense. They signed them off of waivers for $40 million.
The Cardinals defense was needed quickly because Las Vegas’ starting defense the Pittsburg Steelers had their bye week. Also the Sinners felt that they needed to keep the Steelers defense on their roster because of previous good performance. They were left with a difficult decision and needed to drop Williams.
Williams is yet to be signed off of waivers by another team. He is still waiting to hear offers from other teams and wants to play football this year.
“Damian Williams is an extraordinary male and was a great person to employ on the Sinners” said Nicholas Thornberg Las Vegas owner. Given the situation it seems as if both sides are alright with this business decision. Also the Sinners are pleased with Arizona’s defense and their matchup. “This week we were very pleased with Arizona’s defense they did their job and outscored the Memphis Porkers’ defense the Detroit Lions 12 to 3” said Thornberg.
Damien Williams will continue to work out and hope for the best. “I would like to thank the Las Vegas Sinners for the opportunity they gave me. I still am looking forward to and would love to play football this year” said Damien Williams. It seems as if though there are some discrepancies between his contract and what he is willing to play for. “Yes given the situation if I become a free agent I am willing to talk to some other teams about a different contract, I just want to play football this year” said Williams.
