b. WanChen Du is one of my friend, as he also is statistic major. So we just know each others and become a friend in the math course. He was came to American since 2015. He alway focus on the news happen in China. So he will talking some much news he saw in the internet when we meet.
c. It is well known that China is the second largest economic complex in the world. And some experts predict that China will surpass the United States as the world’s largest economy by 2020, so my first research literature is about China’s recent economic research. This has also laid the foundation for China’s tremendous changes in recent years. The second article is about the second topic of the interview, social change in China. Such changes are embodied in the changes in people’s lives caused by science and technology, so the article introduces the four new inventions of China in recent years. The four new inventions are high-speed rail, mobile payment, shared economy and e-commerce. Although China was not the first country to invent these inventions, it did develop them and change most of China’s life. The last article is about Chinese education, which describes many different passages from the American educational system.

QINGLONG HONG-(H)Interviewer
WanChen Du-(D) Interviewee
H: Hi my name is QingLing Hong and I will interview my friends WanChen Do. Uh before we started the interview. Uh one thing. Do you agree we publish this interview in the website or in Internet.
D: Yes.
H: OK. Could you introduce yourself at first.
D: Hello. My name is WanChen Du and I’m a statistic major
H: OK uh my first question is about when did you come to America?
D: Uh I just came to America at 2015 for the college.
H: What do you uh what are you feeling when you arrived in America the first time?
D: I feel so excited it’s when I arrive at a Dallas airport. It looks like what I imagine about the United States.
H: So before you come to the United States, did you imagine a lot of more about American? What kind of things you know about America?
D: Because I have never been to the United States before, my understanding of the United States is through television and books. In my opinion, the United States should be a very developed and democratic country, any infrastructure will be more advanced than China and other Asian countries, if the United States is a city, then China is like a small town.
H: Yeah, What kind of thing you are worry about that you may meet in the USA?
D: When I was in China, I often hears some news about shooting events in the American high schools or universities, so I am worried about I’ll meet a similar event during my American life, because it is illegal for a citizen to own a gun in China. Thus, as a person who have not been to the United States will consider about that Whether my personal safety will be threatened in the United States is also a puzzle.
H: So you live four years in America right now. Do you have any change of your think after you living here.
D: I have been in America for four years. Actually, the confusion about this question have already disappeared. The United States is not as dangerous as I thought at the beginning. Guns are banned in the college.
H:do you have another worry about American life?
D: I actually worried about whether Americans would discriminate against Chinese people. But in the four years of my college life, I have hardly met such people. I have also made some white friends, who are very enthusiastic.
H: So um what kind of thing you feeling is make your difficult to adapt in the American?
D: The important one must be the food. When I came to America, I am happy to eat burgers and fries at the first week. but after that, i miss Chinese food so much . although there some Asian food in the d hall, they are not suit to the pure Chinese style. so i just buy some ingredient and cook by myself. I know the food maybe not delicious, but it makes me fell the taste of my hometown.
H: So OK I have another part for the interview is about some social change in China. So what kind of a huge chance you fueling in China when compared with compare your childhood?
D: There are so many changes I can say. But what impressed me most was the popularity of mobile phones and computers. It was impossible for me to own a mobile phone or a computer when I was young. Exactly, our entertainment were playing outdoor games with our classmates or friends or watching TV at home. Unlike today’s children, they have exposed to mobile phone and computer since they were seven or eight years old. Because they can find everything from the internet. Actually, I get my first smartphone in high school.
H: Do you know the new four great inventions?
D: I have heard about it. Is high-speed rail and mobile payment? what is the others?
H: Yeah. Those are the two of them. And another two is the shared economic and electronic commerce. Simply say you know the shared bicycle and the shopping in the internet like Tao Bao how do you think about the new four inventions influence you like a lot? .
D: Yeah, of course, The time we spent in moving has decreased a lot since we have the high-speed rail. We usually take a plane for long-distance moving. But flight in China often delay, so I prefer to spend a lot of time in waiting for the plane. And the ticket of plane is not very cheap. However, since the high-speed rail appear, I often choose the high-speed rail instead of the plane. Firstly, the ticket price of the high-speed rail is much cheaper than that of the plane. Secondly, the high-speed rail is 100% on time. The rail will depart at the time in the ticket. And in recent years, China’s high-speed trains have been increasing their speed on the premise of ensuring safety. we will get more faster in the future.
For the mobile payment,it make me so surprise. I know apple pay is useful in the USA,but apply pay only used in some limit store such as Starbucks. You can not live without you credit card or cash in a day by using Apple pay in the New York But you can do this in the China, even in the small city or town. I remember one of my vacation before,i just go to a restaurant with my best friend when i back to China. When we finish the dinner,i just go to pay the bill using my credit card,my friend just looked at me strangely. So i asked him what’s wrong with me? he said you have not alipay or wechat pay?
H: So what is the alipay pay or wechat pay. Could you tell me some information about that
D: This is a mobile payment Like the apple pay, those are main mobile payments in china.
H: Okay,keep going
D: He said he hasn’t used credit card or cash for a long tome, usually He doesn’t take his wallet with him when he goes out. He can buy everything he needs with his mobile phone. Thus,i just open my account for the alipay and wechat pay since that day.
H: So after that how do you feeling when you when you just using the mobile payment?
D:It’s so convenience,Mobile payment can not only be used in the store and big shopping mall, but also can be used in the street hawker. When you are ready to pay, they will take out a qr code, you only need to the scan qr code to complete the payment . In China, there is a joke that beggars always hold a qr code when they are begging.
H: Haha, interesting
D: So you can image how incredible the mobile payment in china.my mom just ask me to carry some cash during the vacation, but i have not chance to use the cash since i use the alipay.
H: It’s so convenient for Chinese. Do any others. Uh do you want to say finally?
D:Mm hmm. That’s all I think so.
H:Okay. Thank you so much.
D: Thank you.
