The Valentine, Richmond’s history museum, is excited to announce three funded Summer 2020 internship opportunities.

We are accepting applications from current undergraduate, graduate and recent graduate students for the following internships –

·         Visitor Services/Wickham House Research Intern

This intern will work on the ongoing research project intended to support interpretation of the Wickham House.

·         Education and Programming Intern

The Valentine’s Controversy/History Intern will assist with planning, organization and development of the museum’s Controversy/History conversation and speaker series.

·         Exhibition Design Intern

The intern will work with Valentine curator Meg Hughes and collaborating artist Chaz Barracks to create a brand identity and other graphic design products (text panels and collateral materials) for the exhibition “DONT TOUCH MY HAIR RVA,” which explores the complexity of Black hair as an expression of identity, community and Black joy.

Applications are open through March 8th.  You can find full descriptions and application procedures here –

We are also excited to let you know that beginning this summer, all Valentine internships will be paid experiences.  Thanks to generous donors we are able to provide a $1,500 stipend to each student upon completion of their internship.
