-Processing archival collections
-Developing exhibits for the archives and partner museums
-Crafting entries for our new web-based tour site Shenandoah Stories (archives.countylib.org/tour)
-Assisting researchers in our reading room
-Conducting research projects for ongoing archival activities
-Planning and performing educational programming for local groups and schools
-Collecting oral histories as part of our “Shenandoah Voices” oral history project
-Creating social media posts, blog entries, and other online content
-Launching our “Farms, Factories, and the Frontlines: Shenandoah County in the World Wars” project commemorating the 100th anniversary of World War One and 75th anniversary of World War Two.

All of these activities will be completed in conjunction with archives staff and volunteers. While we expect interns to be able to perform all of these tasks as needed, we will allow individual to focus on projects that match their interests. Our intern will gain additional insight into the site’s decision making process and will be invited to attend meetings of the library staff and the Shenandoah County History Council.

We invite any student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate history program at an accredited college or university is invited to apply. Individuals with a public history background or education are preferred.
