Hacking for Defense

Hacking for Diplomacy and Hacking for Defense are courses supported by the nonprofit, Common Mission Project and H4D and BMNT.

These innovative courses provide students the opportunity to serve as resources to help address critical problems facing the US government today. Participation in this course promotes engagement between students and stakeholders from a range of government agencies and provides hands-on opportunity to solve real national security, defense and foreign policy problems. While traditional tools of statecraft remain relevant, the problems facing policymakers today require them to adapt and adopt new technologies while delivering solutions at speed. These course provides a platform for student teams to develop prototypes that match US government users’ needs in weeks by using entrepreneurial lean startup principles.
