Rabie’s final Tinkercad Project

For my Tinkercad project, I decided to create a drum set and, to challenge myself a little more, a drummer as well. I started with the portion I knew would be harder, the man. I looked around Thingiverse until I found the model that I wanted to use.

This is what the man looked like when I first put him into Tinkercad; however, I needed him to be sitting down so that I could have him be a drummer, so I copied and pasted him 7 times. Using holes, I divided each one into a certain body part, like arms, torso, feet, etc. This was difficult as I needed to make holes that would not cut off the wrong parts. This was especially hard around the torso and arms since they are really close together. Then, I made a seat for him and arranged the different parts into a seated position, then grouping all the pieces together to make one item.

After finishing the drummer, I created the drum set. The main bodies of drums were made using the cylinder shape. The only pieces that are not cylinders are the cymbals and pedal. The cymbals were created using the parabola shape, and the pedal was made using the slope. After looking at the drums when they were done, I felt they needed a finishing touch, so I added a logo on it that said “RABID Inc.”. Originally the different drums were supposed to be seperate from one another, but that would be too many pieces, so I decided to bring them together to print as one item.

For printing, I laid the man on his back and the drum so the logo was facing up. The printing took several attempts since, for some odd reason, the printer had been messing up. For the final print, I made sure to sit and watch it for a while to make sure it did not mess up for the first 30 minutes or so.

Unfortunately, after taking these photos, the head of the man fell off.
