Hello
Hello, My name is Rabie. I’m a Sophomore marketing major from NoVA, and my family is from Morocco.
Grab Bag Noun
When I first started designing my grab bag noun (cat), I was having trouble thinking about how I wanted it to look. I decided on a pose and thought about what basics shape could make up a cat. Thus, I merges several basic shapes and holes to create the design; for example, the ears were created taking a solid parabola and using another one as a hole to make the shape I wanted. At the end, I decided to add glasses as a fun touch to the design.

Moving Part and Printing One of the 20 Objects
- One of the 20 Objects: Sword
For the printing of one of my 20 objects, I decided to go with my sword.
I printed it on its side to make sure that it had the support required to print correctly.
- Moving Parts
For my moving parts, I created a toaster that would print in four separate pieces and actually be able to move the toast up and down with the handle.
Final Tinkercad Planning
It took me a while to finalize an idea for this final project, but as I kept thinking, I knew I wanted to implement various aspects to the project; therefore, I decided to make a drum set and a drummer to go along with that drum set. I plan of creating the drums with shapes like cylinders, parabolas, and cubes.
However, the person would definitely create more of an issue for the process, as people are more ‘fluid’. Thus, I went into Thingiverse and found a good model of a man and put him into Tinkercad. I had no clue on what to do at first, but then I decided that I could copy and paste the man several times and just keep cutting him into various body parts, then assemble them in a sitting position in the end.
This is what I have done with him so far. It has taken some time, since his limbs are close to his body, so it is hard to get each part separated. However, I am really hoping that it works out because I feel that this could come out very cool.
Silly/Serious Group Project
My partner and I decided that our serious object that we would turn silly was the Statue of Liberty. At first, we planned for her to be carrying a bunch of balloons, but then we figured that the strings would be too thin to print, so we changed our idea to her holding up an auctioning sign as if she were bidding on something. Although it is not very apparent, the board in her hand also says “1st Bid $500”.
Ring Project
I was originally going to print the ring for my ring finger, but I decided that if I was actually going to wear it that I wanted it on my pinky.
Originally I wanted a Pokeball symbol on it, but it did not come out detailed enough, so I decided I wanted it to be textured kind of like it had been chipped out of a stone. All in all, I was pretty happy with it.
