Tinkercad Final Project : Fighter Jet
For my final Tinkercad project, I decided to make a realistic fighter jet that isn’t similar to any already made. I wanted to challenge myself by not using a reference photo and create it from using the simple shapes.
Final Design
The dark gray jet was my final design for this project. I tried to incorporate as much detail as I could by using simple shapes. I decided to make a stand for it as well so that it could be seen from all angles.
Final Print
It printed really well on the first try. However, it also printed an enormous amount of support that I had to painstakingly remove from the jet. While doing so, the bombs that were attached to the wings fell off due to the wing support that printed. One of the bottom tail fins survived, however the other one did not. Therefore I took off both to keep it symmetrical. Lastly, the stand for the jet printed out extremely well and held the plane just how I wanted it to. Unfortunately for me, it did not survive the impact of the ground when I accidentally dropped it. I tried to glue it back together, but that didn’t work too well. I am planning on hot glueing it together once I am able to find some hot glue. Overall, I. am very pleased with the outcome of the print, yet wish that all the detail could’ve stayed on.
