For my final OpenSCAD project, I wanted to recreate a model of one my Tinkercad objects- the key. I am very slowly getting used to OpenSCAD operations, but most my commands are found through many youtube tutorials. It took me a while to figure out the right rotation for the triangle on the front, which is what took the most time so far. I like to skip lines between object on the code because it helps me see what I’m doing.
The next step I’m going to try to make the whole in the center of the circle part, and then make the indent and key triangle things (I forgot what they’re called).
It took a very long time and many tutorials to figure out what I was doing, and was very frustrating until I began to understand it some. I managed to use a few different loop commands to create triangles of different sizes; and through a tutorial, I learned how to make a cylinder with a whole in it, so I replaced my original circle with it.
Overall, the project wasn’t too terrible. I had to keep it a little more simple because I am still not used to this program, but it turned out mostly how I wanted it to. I like my key.
