Tinkercad Final Project: House Jewelry Box
I chose to design my house back home as a jewelry box for my mother as we are moving over the summer. For starting this project, I had her send me photos of the house, so I could draw up my design and get an idea of dimensions for each section of the house itself. One thing that I believe will be tricky will be making each section of the outside of the house.
Initial Drawing and Front Design of House
After completing the front design of the house on Tinkercad, I was really happy with the turn out but some minor details were missing like shutters by the windows and a front porch step. I decided to against my original plan to create four separate sections of the exterior for the house and just complete the house and ignore the interior section due to a spacial cram situation for storing. After sitting down for multiple hours spread throughout a week, I finally completed my design with a slide-able roof instead of my original lid idea.
Complete House Design and Final Print
My final project turned out the way I wanted it to and then some! But it did not go without certain challenges; when I first printed my house, the roof attached to the house did not stay on the house itself. I believe it was due to a design flaw on my behalf with not grouping the two shapes as connected as the needed to be, but nothing some glue cannot fix. Other than that, designing it took longer than expected, but taking that time to make sure everything was correct and accurate really made me appreciate this design and print way more.
