Michael Ince’s Profile

Hello

I’m Michael Ince and I’m a senior here at James Madison University; I am majoring in Computer Information Systems. I’m currently a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and enjoy spending my time playing basketball or watching shows on Netflix. Although I have never used a 3-D printer before, I think learning how to use one and design prints for it will be challenging going forward, but I am not one to back down from a challenge!

Grab Bag Noun: Shoe

I chose a shoe because it seemed very interesting to miniaturize something that I use almost everyday. I ended up coming up with idea to make my favorite pair of slides or Flip Flops because they are my favorite type of shoe, and they have my fraternity letters on them. The end product didn’t quite turn out how I would’ve liked it, but I still think what turned out was very cool. The letters on top represent my Fraternity (DTD).

Reprint of Grab Bag Noun

I decided to reprint this slide in order to one, make a better print of it and two, use different design tactics. I really like to outcome and it now it looks legit instead of mediocre.

20 Object Print

I made a better version of my ring idea with using the idea of engraving tactics and zoning some shapes to make the design smooth. I enjoyed the process and how it turned out. Now my next move it to make it smaller and actually ring size.

Moving Part

This is my car that I printed. I really like how it turned and how the wheels can move side to side; one flaw that I did notice was that the wheels don’t really roll so in the future I will have to enhance the wheels design.
