For their semester long project, students will be interviewing a member of an organization, a business owner, or a community leader of some form in the Harrisonburg area or beyond.

Each student will research the person, business, or organization they are interviewing and conduct additional research to find out more about the culture they are from.

Students will meet their subject with another classmate, record the audio, and transcribe their interview. They will then complete a research paper, bringing together all of the elements they have been working on.

At the end of the semester, this website detailing the work of the Immigrant Harrisonburg project, provides an opportunity for students to communicate their findings to a wider public and publish their content to live on in an online archive that can be sustained for years to come.
