Our Team
Meet our interdisciplinary team of James Madison University undergraduate students as we work on developing our products. The six of us represent seven diverse courses of study, which not only helps to give us a balanced perspective, but also makes things much more fun. Anna Freeman
Anna Freeman is a senior at JMU and is majoring in International Affairs with a minor in Spanish. Growing up all over the world has given her a taste for what life is like in the foreign service. Her recent intern experience at the American Embassy in Greece has shown her the challenging role the US government has in dealing with other foreign nations. Anna is interested in pursuing a career in public diplomacy.
Branden Gross
Branden was born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA and has since then been an Engineering student at JMU. With an interest in renewable energy sources and his passion for engineering he hopes to work to provide sustainable energy to the population. In his downtime Branden likes to rock climb, run, longboard and listen to music.
Emily King
Emily will graduate from James Madison University in 2018 with dual degrees in Writing, Rhetoric, & Technical Communication and Sociology, with a concentration in global and political analysis. She spent her third year as a transfer student at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she studied international relations. Through both on-campus and off-campus leadership experiences these past four years, Emily has had the opportunity to both showcase and hone her skills in analysis, communication, and problem-solving. She is highly interested in pursuing intelligence analysis or peace and conflict resolution studies.
Ameer Lahrim
Ameer Lahrim is a Sophomore Public Policy and Administration major and American studies minor at James Madison University. He is the owner of a small life insurance brokerage with plans to expand his business to other fields of insurance in the near future. Given that he grew up right outside DC, Ameer can often be found catching up on the daily politics of the capitol in his spare time.
Melissa Toman
Melissa Toman is a junior Intelligence Analysis and International Affairs double major at James Madison University, with concentrations in National Security and International Relations. Her recent work as a Rho Gamma for JMU’s formal sorority recruitment process has enhanced her leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. In addition, she has educational training in computer programming, foreign affairs, and various analytic techniques. Her goal is to pursue a career in the Intelligence Community as either an Intelligence Analyst or Special Agent.
Jena Wimsatt
Jena is a junior at James Madison University (JMU), majoring in communication studies in the concentration of public relations and minoring in writing, rhetoric and technical communication (WRTC). When she is not at JMU, she resides in her hometown of Middletown, Maryland. After pursuing her passions and completing a public relations and marketing internship at DPR Group in Frederick, MD over the summer, she enhanced her skills in leadership, writing, public speaking, communication, networking, branding and strategic thinking. Her goal is to pursue a public relations career in Washington D.C. in hopes of working for a firm with high-quality, cutting-edge technology clients.
