Meet Digital Defensive Workflow
Digital Defensive Workflow is a team of James Madison University undergraduate students working on developing our Minimal Viable Product (MVP). The five of us represent seven diverse courses of study, which not only helps to give us a balanced perspective, but also makes things much more interesting. Jason Souder
A senior pursuing in engineering and mathematics at James Madison University. He is able to show his leadership and organizational skills through his role as Vice President of Club Dodgeball. During his time at the university, he has been able to display his hard-work through many group projects that involve working with the community, professors, and other experts. Souder joined Hacking for Defense because he enjoys being forced to think outside the box and hopes to gain further experience working with professionals.
Erin Coogan
A senior at James Madison University, majoring in Public Policy & Administration. In fall 2019, she was a legislative intern for U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan on Capitol Hill. This past summer, she was a legislative intern for Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. During college, she has served in various roles within JMU’s Student Government Association including a term on the Senior Leadership Team. Coogan took Hacking for Defense because she wanted to gain more professional experience after a semester in Washington D.C. After graduation, she will be working as a Program Assistant for the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in the U.S. Department of State.
Miguel Prada
A sophomore pursuing the Intelligence Analysis (IA) major with a concentration in National Security and a minor in religious studies. His dedication, critical thinking skills, and organizational skills are shown as he is starting a club in the Intelligence Analysis program and is an active member of SafeRides and the Catholic Community. As only a sophomore, he is becoming more involved in the IA program while learning from experienced professors to pursue his desired career. Parada joined Hacking for Defense to sharpen his problem-solving skills and understand unique problems within government agencies.
Emily Sutherland
A junior majoring in Intelligence Analysis major with a geographic science minor at James Madison University. Though her major is not geared towards educating the youth, Emily spends Tuesday afternoons in College Mentors for Kids, inspiring growth, confidence, and enabling brighter futures with 5th grade. Her hard-work is evident as a research assistant for a JMU professor, studying the threat of foreign IoT devices, as well as being a peer mentor for the Intelligence Analysis program. In addition, Emily interned at a government contractor last summer and was rehired for Summer 2020. Sutherland joined Hacking for Defense because she welcomes complex problems in the U.S government and hopes to gain insight and knowledge on a possible solution.
Kristina Madden
A senior International Relations and Spanish double major. Her love for problem solving and teamwork had her inspired to take this course, Hacking for Defense. She believes it is a valuable course and that everyone should consider tackling on the world’s problems with fellow Dukes!
